THE GIFT
God wants to give you a gift. The gift of eternal life! Eternal life means that when you die, you go straight to heaven. It also means that God makes a home in your heart and becomes your Father and closest friend. But, before we can receive this gift, we need to understand a few things.
THE PROBLEM
Our sins separate us from God. Why? God is perfectly holy. His holiness and our sinfulness push away from each other, like light and darkness. They cannot dwell together. This is a problem because we have all done things that we know are wrong. Even though God wants to make a home in our hearts, He cannot do so because our sins push Him away from us. Even though He wants us in heaven one day when we die, we cannot get in because sin pushes us out of His presence—and we end up in hell. But, this is not what God wants!
GOD LOVES YOU
God loves us tremendously. He does not want us to be separated from Him. He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to earth so that He could solve the sin problem. How did He do this?
THE SOLUTION
Jesus is the Son of God. He is perfectly sinless, just like God. Jesus gave up His life for us, dying on a cross over 2,000 years ago. The blood that He shed was exceedingly precious—and powerful! After all, His blood is the blood of God. This blood has the power to wash away the sins that separate us from God. As proof that His sacrifice has such great power, God raised Jesus from the dead and He is now seated at the right hand of His Father in heaven. He is the Saviour of all who choose to believe in Him.
CHOOSE TO BELIEVE
Whoever believes that Jesus died for them, their sins are washed away with His blood and God makes a home in their heart. When they die, they go straight to heaven. Sin no longer separates them from God! Would you like to confess your belief in Jesus? Pray this prayer right now: “Almighty God, I believe that Jesus is your Son. I believe that He died on the cross for me. I believe that His blood has the power to wash away my sins. Please take His blood and wash me clean. I receive the gift of eternal life. My heart is now your home and when I die, I will go to heaven. You have become my Father, Jesus is my Saviour and I am your child. Amen.”
