JOY! Article – “The Channel”
In 1 Peter 1 v 5, we read that the believer is “kept by the power of God through faith for salvation”. Note the word “through”. Kept by the power of God “through” faith. Faith is the channel, the conduit. Faith is the vehicle the power of God uses to bring the miraculous to pass. Do not underestimate the power of your faith, my friend. Choose to believe, make a conscious effort to believe. Faith is a choice, a decision, a determination. And I promise you, as you make this decided effort, the corresponding emotion will rise up within your heart. As you choose to believe, faith will swell higher and higher, stronger and stronger, until your soul bursts with expectation! Do you feel your prayers are not being answered? Perhaps, you are depriving God of His channel, the channel He needs to bring about the impossible. Pray and believe. You may be praying, but are you really believing? Make the choice today to consciously believe. What wonders will follow, as you open wide the channel for the power of God to flow! Be inspired by the following testimony of a young woman who learnt that her faith was the channel the Lord needed for her miracle to manifest.
Having struggled with an intense pain in her stomach for over two years, Pretty (21) had nearly given up all hope of being healed. As God had planned it, she happened to be visiting Majosi, a rural village where we were having one of our crusades at the time. Upon hearing of the meetings, her faith soared. Although Pretty was unable to walk properly because of the discomfort, her newfound determination pushed her forward and she walked all the way to the crusade grounds. “I came here looking for healing,” she explained, giving her testimony on stage. “I have been suffering from a terrible pain in my stomach,” she continued. “It was so awful that I could not walk properly and I did not feel well most of the time. It actually felt like something was pulling at my stomach from the inside,” she said. “Today, for the first time, I learned about the authority the believer has to command pain to leave in the name of Jesus. During prayer, I felt the Holy Spirit coming over me. Now, that pain is completely gone!” Not only did Pretty receive her healing, but the miracle also compelled her to accept Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. “I want to thank God for what I received today,” she exclaimed, “My life has changed forever.”
