As Jesus hung on the cross, He spoke these now famous words to one of the men dying alongside Him: “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” This man had admitted his wrongdoing and confessed his belief in Jesus being the Saviour of this world. The Lord never asked what terrible things he had done that resulted in his crucifixion. He did not push him for details in order to determine whether this man was worth redeeming. He was a sinner in need of a Saviour. This was all Jesus needed to know! Our world prides itself on gossip and particulars. It hungers after knowing every intimate, juicy detail. God is not interested in gossip. Sin is sin in His eyes. He yearns to save. In a world that elevates justice above mercy, never forget that God does not view a villain the way the world does. While we see the deeds, He sees a soul trapped in service to Satan, doing what it wills not to do. While we see a monster, He sees a prodigal son or daughter wrapped in chains of deception, perversion and hatred. A moment of repentance even for a lifetime of bad deeds, is enough for Him to jump into rescue mode. Today, call on His name. He will come to the rescue – no questions asked!
