For those among you who feel you are not spiritually mature enough to be used by God, the following verse will deal with those misconceptions for good. In Colossians 1 v 10 we read, “that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” This portion of Scripture forms part of Paul’s prayer for the church in Colosse. You see, while we are being used by God for good works, we continue to grow in our knowledge of Him. Paul does not say, “Because of your great knowledge you can be used for good works.” No. Rather, he makes it very clear that being fruitful and growing spiritually are like two legs walking together. Bear fruit. Grow. Bear fruit. Grow. Bear fruit. Grow. God wants to use you while He is growing you! What a splendid truth! And so, dear believer, your limited knowledge of spiritual things does not exclude you from this race. Get going now, even while you are still maturing in the things of God. Step by glorious step, your heavenly Father will mould you into a vessel entirely useful for every good work.
